NorPIP Bike Ride at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit

Congratulations to ZetaSafe MD Andrew Dobbins and his wife Michelle, who completed a 1.5 hours charity bike ride around the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit on May Bank Holiday Monday.

norpipIn a joint venture with the University of Northampton BA Event Management course and Northampton Parent Infant Partnership, the NorPIP Bike Ride is an annual charity cycling event held at the infamous Silverstone Race Track, the home to the British Grand Prix. The event took place on the full 3.66 mile Grand Prix Circuit in 2017!

It is the Charities major fundraising event and the aim was to raise over £12,000 in total with all proceeds going directly to NorPIP. Find out more

It was seriously windy on the old and new pit straights but Andy completed 7 laps in 1.5 hours with his fastest lap somewhat slower than an F1 car at 10:56 but nevertheless 23rd fastest lap completed in 2017 so far.

ZetaSafe MD Andy Dobbins (pictured above) said “This is another wonderful example of the Silverstone community putting on a super event that generates money for great causes, it was really well attended with some wonderful and frankly weird bikes being ridden by all ages and abilities – the circuit is velodrome smooth and brings out the speed monster in me – much to the detriment of my knees still!”
