ZetaSafe’s MD Andrew Dobbins competed in the Droitwich Sprint Triathlon on Sunday 23rd July along with 266 other contenders across a number of classes.
Competing in the Veteran Class, Andrew finished about middle of the field saying “I am glad to have finished in a half decent time and that it didn’t rain! There was excellent camaraderie and lots of lessons learned to put towards doing better in the next one – not least of which is not forgetting your place in the transition area and thinking someone had moved your running shoes!”
The Droitwich Sprint Triathlon is a 400m Pool Swim, 20Km Bike, 5Km Run on a fast, mildly undulating course and cracking trail based run. This years event was in support of St Richard’s Hospice – by donating 10% of all registration fees to the hospice.
St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year they provide free care and support to around 2,300 patients and their families – helping them towards the best quality of life possible. This year alone they need to raise £6.1 million so any support is greatly appreciated. For more information on St Richard’s Hospice visit www.strichards.org.uk Charity No. 515668.
